At Redcliffe Dental Practice, we are very proud of our team.  We work together to deliver high standards of dentistry and exceptional customer care. Many of us have been here for some years, helping to provide a real friendly, family feel to the practice - patients can visit us knowing that they will see familiar faces, and will be treated by the dentist they have come to know and trust.

All our clinical team have undergone a rigorous selection process, they are very well qualified and experienced. They regularly attend training courses and lectures and are called on to deliver courses and lectures ensuring our knowledge and skills are kept completely up-to-date.  The continuous education programmes for all our staff ensure that, at Redcliffe Dental Practice, you will be treated in a safe environment and will receive the very best that modern dentistry has to offer.

Our dentists

Dr Rosie Steere BDS (Liverpool) 1979, Practice Principal/Partner

Dr Rosie Steere graduated from Liverpool Dental School in 1979. Shortly after qualifying she worked as a house officer at Liverpool Dental Hospital and in the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Rosie's dental career spans 30 years within a variety of working environments. This has enabled her to gain extensive skills and successfully manage patients of all ages with varying dental needs. In the year of 2000 Rosie bought the present building and created Redcliffe Dental Practice. Since then she has worked hard and devoted herself to leading and developing the practice into a state of the art dental centre with specialties in virtually all the dental disciplines.

Rosie has an excellent rapport with her patients and has had a lot of experience of general dentistry and dental care provision to anxious children and adults and those with medical conditions. She is interested in all types of general dentistry and has a special interest in restorative dentistry and developed a particular passion for using her Cerec 3D machine. The Cerec 3D helps to create beautiful  and long lasting porcelain restorations in a single visit.

Rosie has completed many advanced postgraduate courses, including passing her postgraduate examination at the Royal College of Surgeons England. She enjoys updating her knowledge on all aspects of dentistry and practice management by attending various courses and study groups all around the country and in Germany.

Rosie is married to a doctor and has three children. In her spare time she enjoys being with the family (two of whom are following in her footsteps), windsurfing, water and snow skiing.

Rosie is greatly liked and respected by her team, patients and colleagues. She is committed to providing you with the best dental care in a friendly and professional environment and welcomes you to Redcliffe Dental Practice for a pleasurable dental experience!

Dr Michael Hickley BDS (Liverpool) 1978, LDS, RCS. (Eng)

Dr Michael Hickley qualified in 1978 and joined the practice as an Associate to John Darbyshire who originally established the practice. He became a partner in 1985 and principal in 1995 when John retired. In 2001 he entered into partnership with Rosie Steere when the practice moved to Redcliffe.
 
Michael is married and has 3 children all at University or working. He has always enjoyed sport and plays regular golf at Heswall Golf Club. He played Cricket and Hockey at Neston Cricket Club for many years, but has now ‘hung up his boots’ and remains a social member. He loves the mountains and enjoys trips to the Alps skiing and walking in the Lake District.

Michael’s main dental interests lie in general dentistry and restorative dentistry, providing solutions for patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth.

He feels privileged to have treated so many loyal patients over the last 30 years and enjoys ‘catching up’ with them when they come in for treatment.

He has many patients who have been extremely nervous at the prospect of dental treatment and enjoys showing them how dentistry can be performed in a relaxed and comfortable manner.

He has developed a particular interest in the restoration of implants which is rapidly becoming the definitive solution for patients who have lost teeth.

Many patients need to have root canal treatments and he has been on courses enabling him to provide his patients with endodontics using state of the art techniques.

Some patients have a problem with snoring. This can be cured by wearing a Sleepwell appliance when sleeping. Michael has completed the course enabling him to provide these appliances patients and has helped many patients and their partners  to enjoy a good night’s sleep.

Michael has enjoyed the process of developing Redcliffe Dental Practice to the relaxing but state of the art environment that it is, and is committed to continuing this development in the future.

Dr Brian Grieveson BDS (Newcastle) 1972, MFGDP (UK), MGDS

Dr Brian Grieveson graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1972 and has had a long and distinguished career in dentistry and in the dental academic world. He moved to Liverpool in 2001 to take up the post of Postgraduate Dental Dean at the University of Liverpool, and a part-time lectureship in Restorative Dentistry at the Liverpool Dental School and Hospital. He particularly enjoys the challenges of endodontics (root canal treatment), and in his spare time loves rugby, skiing and fly fishing.

Dr Robert Adams BDS, FDS RCS (Eng), MSurgDent RCS, MSc (UCL, Implant dentistry)

Dr Robert Adams is our expert in dental implants - strong, permanent and natural-looking replacements for missing teeth. He is a GDC registered specialist in oral surgery, and also has a masters’ degree with distinction in Dental Implantology from the Eastman Hospital in London – the most comprehensive implant training programme currently available in the UK. He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and the European Association of Osseointegration. He has lectured nationally and internationally on the surgical aspects of dental implantology and has helped establish and run implant training courses and bone grafting courses at the University of Wales College of Medicine.

Dr Stephan Eidam Dr Med Dent MS (U of Minnesota)

Dr Stephan Eidam is a specialist in periodontics, helping people with advanced gum (periodontal) disease to bring the condition under control so they can keep their teeth for life.  Stephan spent four years working as a GDP in Germany before moving to the United States to take a three-year specialist training programme in periodontology at the University of Minnesota. He has worked as a periodontologist in several locations including Galway in Ireland, and Milwaukee in the US, where he held the position of Assistant Professor of Periodontics at Marquette University. Stephan is a member of the German Society of Periodontology.

Dr Fadi Jarad BDS, PhD, MFDS RCS Eng, MRD Endo RCS Ed, FHEA

Dr Jarad has experience in Endodontics and Prosthodontics. He is a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of England. He was awarded MRD in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has a PhD in colour and aesthetic dentistry.

Our hygienists

Gill Stagg EDH (Liverpool) 1993

Gills role at the practice is to raise patient awareness about the importance of a good oral health regime, treat gum disease and provide advice on prevention and oral care. Since joining our team 8 years ago she has undertaken postgraduate courses in various subjects to ensure delivery of the highest standards of patient care.

Julee Fisher EDH (Aldershot) 1996

Julee qualified as a hygienist at the Royal Army Dental Corps in Aldershot in 1996, and joined Redcliffe in 2001. Julee has worked closely with our periodontal specialists and in the fields of implants restorative work and orthodontics meaning that patients of the practice are cared for with the most up to date approach to hygiene treatment. Julee remains passionate about her profession which is evident in her enthusiastic approach not only with the care of her patients but also her willingness to keep up to date with the latest information by attending regular meetings and conferences. Julee spends most of her spare time caring for her two young sons who keep her very busy.

Our nurses

Our friendly and understanding team of nurses are all fully qualified and trained to assist in restorative and surgical procedures and are extremely competent to assist in these fields. They have all completed and passed their radiography examination and are fully qualified to take X-rays.  They maintain the highest standards in cross infection control for benefits of staff and patients. They provide support for the patients by maintaining informative and sympathetic communication.

Jenny Fearns Head nurse & implant co-ordinator

Jen qualified in 1996 as a dental nurse and has been a dedicated member of our team for over 15 years. Her role in the practice is widespread and she is responsible for the smooth running of the practice, for liasing with patients and the dental team and assisting the specialist dentists. Jen has a professional, informative and highly knowledgeable presence. She has attended a large number of advanced specialised courses including gaining her dental radiography exam, SAAD and implant coordinator qualifications. Her clinical and administrative background enables her to appreciate patients’ needs and address their concerns relevantly. Jen is responsible for ensuring that cross infection and disinfection policies are carried out to the highest standards. She also has the duties of training staff. She has arranged a number of continuous professional development courses for dentists in the Wirral, Chester, North Wales and Liverpool areas. Her hobbies include walking her dog Max and swimming.

Tracy Wakeham Nurse

Tracy is an experienced qualified dental nurse who has been with us for 10 years. She works closely with Mike and Fadi. Tracy is extremely hard working and efficient and always goes the extra mile when assisting the dentists and ensures the highest standard of patient care. Tracy passed her Dental Radiography exam at Liverpool dental hospital and attends alot of outside courses to ensure her CPD is up to date. In her spare time Tracy enjoys home decorating and cycling.

Alex Steepe Nurse

Alex qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 and has worked closely with Rosie Steere for 8 years. She possesses a kind, caring and professional attitude and her warm and welcoming smile makes patients feel at ease. Alex works extremely hard to make sure at all times the patient is treated with the utmost care and attention. Alex is fully trained to provide excellent support for the dentist. She has furthered her dental education in recent years by successful completion of the dental radiography course at Liverpool dental School. Alex enjoys spending time looking after her 3 gorgeous cats Morris, Mog and Floyd.

Bev Smallthwaite Receptionist

Bev has been with us for 9 years now and is an essential and highly valued member of our team. She plays a pivotal role in enhancing customer care and is the first point of contact either by telephone or in person. Bev will do all she can to make your time with us a most pleasant and enjoyable experience. When not caring for patients Bev enjoys walking, spending time looking after her grandson and cooking for family and friends.
