Dental hygienist
Research has proved beyond doubt that when it comes to caring for your teeth and gums, preventive dentistry is the best way of preventing any potential problems.
Research also suggests that people with gum disease are more likely to suffer from a narrowing of blood vessels, which can lead to heart attack or stroke.
Gum disease can also cause bad breath and by creating a pleasant environment in your mouth your general well being and self confidence is improved.
Achieving optimum oral health requires the collaborative efforts of our hygienist, dentist and you.
Following an examination with the dentist you will be asked to book an appointment with one of our excellent and friendly team of hygienists, Julee or Gill who work closely alongside our dentists and specialists.
Our hygienists are specifically trained to scale and polish your teeth thoroughly and to offer guidance on how best to clean your teeth and gums with the correct brushes and techniques, and show you any areas you may be missing.
Using the right products helps enormously - we have a wide range of oral-healthcare products conveniently available at the practice, and our hygienist will be delighted to make recommendations for you. She may also give you healthy eating advice.
Regular visits with our hygienist help you to take the best possible care of your teeth and gums giving you the dual benefit of protecting you against decay and gum disease.
Patients with more advanced gum disease can be referred to our in house periodontist.
