Natural-looking Botox

A more refreshed, youthful appearance

Botox treatment for wrinkles is the most commonly requested aesthetic medical procedure worldwide. Wrinkles on the upper part of the face, around the eyes, nose and on the forehead are often of concern as they can give the impression of an aged appearance. They can be treated alone but more commonly they are addressed as part of a whole face rejuvenation programme.

We offer friendly, tailored advice and specialist treatments in non-surgical facial rejuvenation to keep your skin looking radiant and enhancing your natural beauty.

Treatment process and FAQs

Treatment is provided by Redcliffe Partner, Dr Claire Brundan BChD, who is a fully-qualified dentist with 10 years experience. Having facial aesthetic treatment from a dentist means you can benefit from their thorough knowledge and understanding of facial anatomy. Dentists have vast experience in delivering this delicate work in a gentle and precise manner.

At your first appointment, Claire will undertake an assessment of your skin, and listen carefully to what you hope to achieve over the course of your treatment. She will then develop a treatment plan and discuss it in depth with you before commencing treatment.

Botox has been used for over 30 years for cosmetic and medical uses. Side effects are rare and the injections help the body ‘naturally’ retrain itself to further reduce frown lines.

You'll see a marked improvement in these lines after two or three days, and then a continual improvement for up to a month.

When injected with Botox, the muscles are temporarily immobilised, which means that you will not be using those muscles that form the face into a frown.

*Please note that Claire doesn't offer fillers as she believes they produce an unnatural aesthetic. We do not endorse heavy treatments.

Do Botox® injections really work?

Absolutely! Botulinum toxin is a medicine that temporarily blocks the signals from nerve endings that tell the muscles to move. The result is a reduction in movement of the muscles. Lines and wrinkles on the face are caused by years of repetitive contraction of these muscles that etches a line into the skin. When these muscles are relaxed the lines very quickly disappear.

Will I look "Fake" or "Frozen"?

No! We don't endorse heavy treatments and would rather decline to undertake such treatment. Many people today opt for a natural, more refreshed look rather than a frozen look. This requires very careful dosing in very specific areas to reduce the signs of ageing without looking like you have had a treatment.

Do the injections hurt?

Most people will feel something when the treatment is being performed, however the procedure is described as painless by most people. For particularly nervous patients a numbing cream may be applied.

Are there any side effects?

Botulinum toxin injections have been used safely for over 30 years for cosmetic and medical uses. In cosmetic doses, serious side effects are incredibly rare. Less serious side effects are related to the treatment affecting the wrong muscles and can result in a drooping of the eyebrow or eyelid. These side effects are uncommon and less likely to happen with an experienced practitioner. You may experience some temporary bruising or swelling at the injection site as with all injections.

How long does it last?

Most people will get about 4 months of a result from a single treatment. There is some variation between 2 months and 6 months. Some evidence suggests that with regular treatments, the effects may last longer.

Can Botox injections be used to treat excessive sweating?

Excessive sweating (also known as Hyperhidrosis) can be treated using Botox injections into the area effected. This effectively switches off the sweat glands for up to 9 months and is usually extremely effective.

How much does it cost?

The cost of treatment will vary depending on the number of areas to be treated . At Redcliffe Dental, Botulinum Toxin injections start from £125 for a single area.

Botox - One area
£125.00

Botox - Two areas
£165.00

Botox - Three areas
£205.00

Have your say...

I was nervous about attending my first botox appointment at Redcliffe. Claire put me right at ease and took me through my options. I felt safe that I was not going to look like a plastic doll on my wedding day and we started a course of treatment that day. The treatment was not painful and within two weeks my pronounced wrinkles on my forehead had practically vanished. I was amazed by the results. I have recommended Claire to friends who are also seeing her for treatment. I now come back every 3-4 months and enjoy catching up with Claire when I pop back in.
