Kathryn Taylor graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1993, obtaining her dentistry qualification. The following year, she completed vocational training in the York Scheme. Kathryn then pursued training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, earning a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 1997. She conducted her basic science research at the University of Leeds, focusing on wound healing, and successfully completed a PhD in that field in 2007.
One of Kathryn’s areas of specialisation is the management of anxious patients. To further enhance her expertise, she obtained a Diploma in Conscious Sedation from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2000.

Throughout her career, Kathryn has worked in hospitals across the Yorkshire and North West region, where she has played a significant role in organizing and developing undergraduate education in areas such as medical emergencies management, sedation, and oral surgery. Her surgical expertise encompasses the treatment of various disorders of the teeth, mouth, and jaws, including surgical removal of wisdom teeth and buried or impacted teeth. Additionally, she is experienced in pre-prosthetic/implant surgery and managing abnormalities of the soft tissues of the mouth, lips, and facial skin. Kathryn also provides assistance to other specialists and dentists who require sedation for patients with specific anxieties related to treatment.
Dr. Taylor is widely respected as one of the most esteemed Oral Surgeons in the UK. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have her as part of the team at Redcliffe Dental Practice and Specialist Referral Centre.
